Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa

Rancho Mirage, CA

Structural engineering services performed in design-build capacity with the general contractor as part of a site-wide hotel and casino renovation.

Sunroad Corporate Center
Landscape Improvements

San Diego, CA

This project engaged JGEG engineers to provide the structural design associated with landscaping improvements at the Sunroad Corporate Center. The main focus involved new open deck areas, a steel-framed enclosed covered meeting pavilion, outdoor seating, a concrete fume for water transfer, and associated foundation elements. The team provided support to the GC for the building permitting process.

Centerside Corporate Center
Landscape Improvements

San Diego, CA

The JGEG engineering team was brought on board to provide structural engineering services for a project involving significant landscaping improvements at the Centerside Corporate Center in San Diego. The focal point of the landscaping
improvements project involved two new cantilevered deck areas and associated foundation elements as well as a steel-framed shade structure. The shade canopy was needed for the Center’s fitness area.

San Diego Children’s Zoo Various Structure Designs

San Diego, CA

A pedestrian suspension bridge and an Aerial Tram are just two of the projects JGEG structural engineers have been working on at the new San Diego Children’s Zoo. The team also has been busy providing the structural design of foundation elements for a support frame for an ETFE Greenhouse as well as for several tensioned fabric structures for this new section of the popular San Diego Zoo.

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park

La Jolla, CA

JGEG engineers provided the structural design for a 40-ft span timber pedestrian bridge,  timber crib retaining walls, and site improvements at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park. The bridge and retaining walls were part of a Hillside improvements project that included several items associated with civil and landscaping improvements to the park. The structural team coordinated with the City of San Diego as required for permit approval for the project.

The Plunge Aquatic and Fitness Center

San Diego, CA

The JGEG team was brought on board to provide structural engineering services for the renovation of this existing fitness center and natatorium in central San Diego. The team led the design for upgrades needed to accommodate new floor openings, cladding, and space configurations. The design also included a new foundation and a mezzanine structure for a new pre-engineered building.

Natatorium Building Addition

Orange County, CA

This project required the JGEG structural engineering team to design a lean-to structure integrated with an existing, pre-manufactured building for a back-of-house facility. The lean-to consisted of a light gage steel-framed structure with steel panel cladding to match the existing PMB. Project also included anchorage and evaluation of structural support for new equipment being mounted to the steel framing of the existing PMB.

APX Water Park Structure

(Undisclosed Location)

Our team did a detailed structural analysis on the complex loading imposed on this water park structure from both the patrons and the water features. Large dynamic loading
was present in the design as a result of the many moving parts and water flow, requiring our engineers to develop a detailed knowledge of the mechanical design and ensure
careful consideration of the long-term effects of these loads such a fatigue. Our efforts led to a savings of close to 15% on steel tonnage.

NB-100 Play Structure for Amusement Park

(Undisclosed Location)

To capture all effects of various load combinations on the complex geometry of this structure, our team of engineers led the design for an intricate three-dimensional finite element analysis model which not only facilitated the structural design, but allowed for the extraction of data for designers of other features and allowed the team to see the effect of design changes in real time.

NB-200 Play Structure for Amusement Park

(Undisclosed Location)

In a cost-saving effort to shrink the steel tonnage of the structure, our team created an in-house 3D analytical model to study the effects of reducing structural sections on the overall performance of the model considering, strength, stiffness, and the performance requirements imposed on the amusement structure vendor for their most typical
projects. Our efforts helped client see a 29% reduction in steel tonnage.

Sky Rail Zipline

Orlando, FL

Structural engineering design for steel play structure incorporating a zip-line and several other play features.

Water Park Play Structure

USA

JGEG provided structural design to assist the play structure manufacturer in developing a marketable product able to be installed in amusement park locations worldwide for complex live and environmental loading conditions.

Aztec Stadium

San Diego State University, San Diego, CA
