Good Samaritan Hospital Modular Chiller Plant
San Jose, CA
The JGEG team provided structural design for this modular chiller plant, including a series of chiller modules with an integrated platform above for the support of cooling towers for a region of very high seismicity. The selected manufacturer for the plant had limited experience with seismic design and systems in addition to a stringent OSHPD review. Our engineers worked with the manufacturer and design team to redesign the chiller plant for structural integrity and code compliance. Structural design consisted of full structural engineering services, including coordination and approval through OSHPD.
Nanotech High Voltage Testing Laboratory
Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, CA
Dan Junker and team members provided full structural engineering services for the design of a new single-story nanotech high-voltage testing laboratory at Naval Base Point Loma. The high-voltage test cell area was designed for unique end user constraints and building geometry. The structural scope of work also included the design of a rooftop antenna platform and demolition of the existing building.
Sharp Memorial Hospital – Air Handling Unit Seismic Certification
San Diego, CA
The JGEG engineering team provided a structural analysis to certify that new Air Handling Unit equipment installed at the hospital met or exceeded building codes. The seismic analysis was required due to aluminum construction. Structural design consisted of full structural engineering services, including coordination and approval through OSHPD.
Edgemoor Hospital SP/SNF
Santee, CA
VA Medical Center – Phase VI
Emergency Department Expansion
Las Vegas, NV
Provided structural design of the building curtain walls and cladding for a steel shell for this project to expand the existing emergency room. The engineers worked closely with the contractor to design and build around the existing building shell with seamless integration with the existing systems. Prior experience while associated with another firm.
Genomics Institute of the
Novartis Research Foundation Central Plant & HVAC Upgrades
San Diego, CA
JGEG provided the structural design of the cooling tower support platform for two new cooling towers for the Novartis Genomics Institute. The purpose of the structural design was to demonstrate that the structural lateral and gravity force resisting systems of the equipment support meet California Building Code requirements.
